Students rotated through four areas of activities introducing them to the education and career opportunities available to them.

Students met with Education Matters business professionals to participate in a one-on-one mock interview. The Career & College Ready portfolio, which included a resume and career goals, was reviewed during the interview.

Hickory Young Professionals (HYP)  chatted with students and offered career insight on how they prepared for their careers.

The students learned about the postsecondary educational opportunities and degree/certificate program areas available in Catawba County with CVCC, ASU, LRU, and NC Center for Engineering Technologies.

Students were also given campus tours with presentations in Advising, Automotive Systems Technology, Valley Sim Hospital, Horticulture and Turfgrass Technologies, and the CVCC Campus Store.

Education Matters, an initiative of CVCC, is a partnership between business, government, and education working together to increase the value of education and educational attainment in Catawba County.
